Background :
- No furs, no fire protects you from the icy gaze of a Hyperborean. They have carved rivulets of ice into my very soul, and in return I carve fire into their white flesh.
A Nemedian by birth, Ygritte rarely speaks of her years of slavery in the hands of the Hyperboreans. It is obvious from the little she does say, that their reputation for pitiless cruelty is not overstated. Ygritte has marched in chains across the wind-swept ice-covered plains of Hyperborea, has seen the gaunt spires of Sigtona, and has witnessed first hand the devilry of the Witchmen of the White Hand. She survived it all, guided by a will of steel.
When she finally managed to escape during the chaos of a Aesir raid, Ygritte could have kept running. Nobody would have blamed her. Instead, she built a homestead just inside the border of Brythunia, vowed never to raise a family, and learned how to repay cruelty with fear. The Red Flame tirelessly tracks down the gaunt slavers, intercepts missions sent by the White Hand, and offers nobler goals to the hunting or raiding parties of northern lords who come her way.

Campaign History :
When Ygritte decides to single-handedly attack a Turanian camp and free slaves from the clutches of a Hperborean witch, she meets with Rudraige and Gawayn. When the Brythunian Lord decides to take a scroll he has found on the Hyperborean's corpse to be translated, Ygritte, despite the dreadful wounds inflicted on her by the enemy's magic, falls in with them, sure this way to strike another blow against the cruel northerners.
During the journey across the North Lands, Rudraige meets with one of his hereditary enemies, a Nemedian lady, and her raiding party. Although Ygritte has no particular quarrel with the Nemedians, she is convinced by Rudraige's desire to prevent any future pillaging on Brythunian soil. During the fight, her arrows strike fear and confusion into the enemy, and her prompt action probably saved Rudraige's life and allowed him to slay his foe.
Ygritte follows Rudraige to the Aifreweia, a sanctuary of Mitra, where it is revealed that her wounds have worsened during their travels. The sanctuary's healers will need time to tend to her.
