Year 17-24 :
Conan is a thief, operating in Nemedia (The God in the Bowl), Zamora (The Tower of the Elephant, The Hall of the Dead), Corinthia (Rogues in the House)

Death of the magician Yara of Zamora, whose hold over the Zamoran royal line vanishes with him, and his tower, named for unknown reasons the Tower of the Elephant, mysteriously collapses.

Year 25 :
Conan is a mercenary fighting for the Turan Empire (The Hand of Nergal)

Year 26 :
Conan is a mercenary captain fighting for the kingdom of Khoraja; by a twist of fate, and above all a prophecy of Mitra, he becomes the general of Princess Yasmela's entire army.  Victory at the Battle of the Shamla Pass is an important turning point in General Conan's career, and he enters the world stage (Black Colossus).

The king of Khoraja is captured by that of Ophir, who hesitates between ransoming him or selling him to the king of Koth.  In Khoraja reigns in his stead the king's sister, Yasmela.

Inadvertently, a legendary Zamoran thief, Shevatas, awakens Thugra Khotan, ancient priest-king of Kuchthemes, who has slumbered in this unviolable tomb for 3000 years after the destruction of his city by the Hyborians.
Thugra Khotan rises as Natohk, the Veiled One, as a prophet among the nomads of the great desert to the east of Stygia (where ancient Kuchthemes laid), the same desert that meets the steppelands of Turan.  The Stygians themselves raise armies and magic to protect themselves against him.  Natohk rallies thirty desert tribes, fifteen cities and a rebel Stygian prince Kutamun with five thousand chariots, and lays waste to Shem.  He visits Yasmela in dream, and declares his intention to enslave her.

An oracle from Mitra tells Yasmela to place her kingdom in the hands of the first man she meets in the street; this is Conan, who is a captain of mercenary troops in Khorajan service.

A great battle is fought at the Pass of Shamla, where the Khorajan army has halted.  The Khorajans are reinforced by hill tribes, but also refugees from Shem who have refused to bend the knee to Natohk.  Against them are arrayed war-chariots of Stygia, black-skinned warriors of Kush, asshuri of Nippur, Shumir and Eruk, and white-robed Shemite nomads.  50,000 will die in the fighting, which suggests a huge number of troops present.

Victory in the Battle of the Shamla Pass belongs to General Conan, who then slays Thugra Khotan.

Year 27 :
Conan has returned to the life of a mercenary in Turan, but after the slaughter of his company, he turns to piracy on the Vilayets Sea (Iron Shadows in the Moon).

Year 28 :
Conan is in Argos, where he no doubt serves as a mercenary, before becoming embroiled with the justice system and having to flee.  The ship on which he sails is belayed by none other than Bêlit, the Queen of the Black Coast.  The two go on to form a couple of legend, terror of Stygian ships, before Bêlit is killed after sailing up the poisonous Zarkheba River (Queen of the Black Coast).

Year 29 :
Conan is a captain in the army of Prince Almuric, which army is annihilated by its Stygian and Kushite enemies.  During his escape, he discovers the lost city of Xuthal (The Slithering Shadow).

Year 30-31 :
Conan is captain of the guard of Queen Taramis of Khauran, then becomes the leader of a band of desert raiders (A Witch Shall be Born) that he leads to raid neighbouring Turan (The Devil in Iron)

Queen Taramis of Khauran is deposed by her evil twin sister, and he kingdom collapses into chaos. A demon known as Thaug settles into its desecrated temple of Ishtar, and thrives on human sacrifice.  Taramis is rescued by Conan who slays the demon and restores order before leaving for the East.

Year 39 :
Conan returns to Cimmeria, but finding no rest, becomes a scout in the Aquilonian army at Fort Tusculan on the Black River, the newly founded border between Aquilonia and the Pictish Kingdom (Beyond the Black River).

The westward expansion of the kingdom of Aquilonia unites the Picts under the leadership of the shaman Zogar Sag, at a time when King Numedides of Aquilonia has withdrawn his army to fight elsewhere.  Fort Tusculan is burnt to the ground and the frontier pushed back to the Thunder River.

Year 40 :
Conan is a captain of the Aquilonian army, then a General.  Events force him out of Aquilonia, back to a life of piracy, during which he discovers the fabled treasure of Tranicos (The Black Stranger)

Conan becomes a General in the Aquilonian army, and is invited by King Numedides to Tarantia, where he is hailed by the masses.  Numedides begins to see him as a rival and throws him into prison.  Conan escapes, but returns with newfound wealth, and is approached by the Counts of Poitain, who wish him to lead them in rebellion against Numedides.

Year 41 :
Conan has not yet heeded the Poitanian requests, as he adventures instead into the deepest south, the lost city of Xuchotl, and fights alongside the second love of his life, Valeria of the Red Brotherhood, an Aquilonian (Red Nails).  He further adventures in the Black Kingdoms (Jewels of Gwalhur).

Year 42 :
Conan returns to Aquilonia and begins his conquest of the Aquilonian throne (The Phoenix on the Sword)

The legendary adeventurer, ancient vainquisher of the Battle of the Pass of Shamla, lends his name and his sword arm to a rebellion of Poitanian nobles against the King of Aquilonia, Numedides.  Recruiting an army with the fabulous treasure he has amassed during his many adventures, he strangles Numedides and is crowned King, inaugurating a new Hyborian dynasty.

Although King Conan prones liberty over tyranny, the ungrateful Aquilonians quickly come to regret Numedides.  Conan survives one serious assassination plot only with the unwitting assistance of Thoth-Amon, a Stygian sorceror.

Year 43-44 :
Conan is King of Aquilonia (The Scarlet Citadel).

At the intigation of a Kothian sorceror named Tsotha-lanti, King Conan of Aquilonia is lured into a trap by his erstwhile Ophirian allies who turn him over to the mad Kothian Emperor, Stabonus.
King Conan is emprisoned in a magical dungeon in Korshemish, where he frees the wizard Pelias, captive of Tsotha-lanti.
King Conan gathers his allies, and defeats the king of Ophir and the Emperor Strabonus in a great battle on Aquilonian soil.  Tsotha-lanti is slain by Pelias.

Year 45 :
Conan is King of Aquilonia (The Hour of the Dragon)

The Heart of Ahriman is stolen from its secret hiding place beneath the temple of Mitra in Tarantia, and used by conspirators seeking the thrones of Nemedia and Aquilonia, including the rightful heir of King Numedides, Valerius, to raise and arm Xaltotun, the last High Priest of Acheron.

King Nimed of Nemedia is killed by a sorcery-induced plague, along with his three sons, and his younger brother Tarascus, one of the conspirators, is crowned.  Tarascus then supports the rightful heir to the Aquilonian throne, Valerius, against the usurper, King Conan I.

A great battle is fought in the valley of the Valkia, where Valerius assembles fifty thousand men and King Conan I forty-five thousand.  Conan is struck by paralysis, but a captain of his host stands in for him.  The Aquilonians have the upper hand, until the cliffs that edge the battlefield are brought down by Xaltotun's magic, crushing the Aquilonian knights.  The Nemedians are victorious.

Conan is slated for execution but escapes with the aid of a slave girl, Zenobia.  He undertakes an epic adventure throughout much of the Hyborian world to recover the Heart of Ahriman, slay his enemies and win back his throne.  Zenobia becomes Queen of Aquilonia.
