Originally a Shemite goddess, the cult of Ishtar has proven popular, and has spread north-east and north-west from its homeland, into Corinthia, Ophir and Zingara - where she is gradually supplanting Mitra - as well as in to Koth, Khauran, Khoraja, and Zamora.
The goddess is worshipped in rich temples with lavish ceremony, with rituals of animal sacrifice and orgiastic frenzy, performed before sensuel idols of ivory.
