Demons

Sorcerors can open a Door to a place named the Outside or the Outer Void, dark worlds of formless chaos where formless monsters stalk, and draw into this plane their demonic forms. They can appear as :

-  Creatures of a shape not unlike a giant baboon, black with flaming yellow eyes and razor-sharp teeth and claws, who move on all fours.  Their mishapen heads bear a face of nightmare and lunacy in which there is a trace of the features of their summoner; their gaze shrivels limbs and draws the soul from the body, by which means the victim is slain; the sorceror who summons them looks only upon their shadow, whose simple presence is enough to strike screaming terror into men.  Upon perceiving it men instinctively flee so as not to look upon the beast itself.
They hunt their victims by their odour, thanks to an object offered to them by their summoner.
They are immune to non-magical weapons, but when slain disintegrate into a slimy, unstable mass and leave only an outline on the floor.

-  A black, winged-horror that can take the shape of a camel.



Such demons also haunt ruins of pre-human times. Hence a dancing girl of Shadizar who slept too near the ruins of Dagoth hill, awoke in the clutches of a black demon, and the hybrid sorceror Tsotha-lanti was born of that union.

It is worth noting that demons appear to willingly serve those who summon them, and in certain circumstances will desert them, although they do not appear to be able to turn against them unless certain ritual prescriptions have not been respected.
